Spotlight

Taste of the North

North Shore Horizons' ninth "Taste of the North" is set for next week at Superior Shores Resort. From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, gourmet foods can be sampled from 11 North Shore restaurants with complimentary coffee and a cash bar.

There will be live music and silent auction items like massages, home décor, travel packages, artwork, and more.

The events raises money for North Shore Horizons and its efforts to prevent sexual and domestic violence in Lake County. All proceeds benefit programs for survivors of sexual assault and domestic abuse and a 24 hour crisis line.

In 2010, North Shore Horizons served 353 women, men, and children, and helped 92 individuals with emergency, transitional and long-term supportive housing in Lake County.
