Boy taken to hospital after falling 20 to 30 feet at Gooseberry Falls
A 7-year-old Twin Cities boy was transported to Duluth today by a Life Flight helicopter after he slipped on rocks at lower Gooseberry Falls and fell 20 to 30 feet.
The boy's injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, said Paul Sundberg, manager of Gooseberry Falls State Park. The Lake County sheriff's rescue squad responded to the call around noon and called for a Life Flight transfer.
